Bio:
Jeannie Martin, aka, The Fabric Chef was born in Florida and moved to Colorado in 1958. She is a natural born artist and entrepreneur. At an early age she liked to sew and draw. She won her first prize for her artwork in high school Later on as a manager for a grocery store chain, she created giant artwork for store displays. Jeanne opened her own art business in 1997 called Soft Sculptures & Beyond which makes realistic food soft sculptures from fabric. She was commissioned in 1998 to make several giant taffies and two 5 foot ice cream cones for "The Little Switzerland of America Candy" stores in Ouray and Telluride, CO. She has created the first realistic fabric breads and pastry arrangements for home and business decor. She has been in art galleries in Ouray, at The Art Center in Grand Junction and Around the Corner Art Gallery in Montrose, CO. Many newspaper articles have showcased her artwork She is a twice survivor of cancer and lost her daughter to brain cancer in 1995. Jeanne donates 5% of each sale to the children's cancer society.
"As food is nourishment for the body, Art is nourishment for the soul. Everyone can relate to food,certain food can bring back good memories, home cooking, family, or special occasions.
